State of the Union blues

I didnít listen to this weekís State of the Union speech, as usual. Maybe I suffer from a character flaw but I canít stand the stupid thing. As Iíve argued before, this anachronism should be abolished.

People think this speech is required by the Constitution, but itís not. Here are the exact words of Article 2 Section 3 of the Constitution:
ďHe shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient...Ē
Thatís it. Nothing about a speech and nothing about the doggone thing being done annually...
