To get a 400,000 year perspective it was necessary to use an Antarctic ice core rather than the Greenland
ice core
. As you can see, the temperature record is dominated by incredibly sharp temperature rises and
incredibly sharp temperature falls. Nothing is unusual about current temperature changes except the fact
that we are lucky to be living in the warm half of the temperature range. God help us to stay there.
